Off to Thailand

Strangers in a Strange Land

Here we go again.  It’s not so easy this time.  Given our advanced ages, those synapses don’t seem to form as quickly as they used to when confronted with new material.  And the material is very, very new!  When we moved to Spain 12 years ago, there was a lot that was more familiar.  Here we are dealing with a language with 44 consonants, 24 vowels, and five tones, a temporary military government, a developing country, and Asia, which is completely and utterly different than anything “western”.

Are we up for this?  Mostly.  We’ve done this before, so we know what we’re in for.  It never occurred to either us for even one second that we should keep the status quo.

                                Take care,

It’s not right.
It’s not wrong.
It’s just different.
