News from our classroom:

Shalom Horim Yekarim (Dear Parents),

In the month of April we will learn all about the Holiday of Passover. We will learn the “Ma Nishtanah” (The four questions), all the meaning of the food we find on the Seder plate, why we eat Matzah, what “chamentz’ is and what we do with it.We’ll have a passover class activity that will end in eating some charoset. A day before we’ll go out for spring break we’ll have a whole school seder.

When we come back from spring break, we will celebrate “Yom Ha’atmaut” which is the independence day of the State of Israel. This year Israel is 61 years old. We will celebrate this special event with a whole school program.

All during  the months of April and May, we will practice the parts for “Kabbalt Hasiddur” ceremony, which will take place on May 26, 2009.

In the end of May we will learn all about the Holiday of Shavuot.

In Hebrew will lean the last vowel. This is the sound of “EE”. We will celebrate it with some Ice cream, since ice cream in Hebrew has the sound of “EE” in it. (Glida).

We will continue to work with our Derech Binah Hebrew book.

Have a wonderful spring break.

Thank you,

Morah Sigal
