A pianist, composer, musical director, producer and puppeteer, Harry Mayronne Jr. was raised by artists and music lovers; his late father was a graphic artist who also managed the Olympia Brass Band and owned a talent booking agency. His mother is the grandchild of English Music Hall performers. Harry was exposed to an eclectic mixture of music, and began his classical piano training at age six.

Harry’s versatility has placed him in demand in cabaret, jazz, the legit theater, and comedy. 2011 marked the return of his long-running restaurant-themed musical comedy "Waiting Around" (composer/producer). The show enjoyed a three-year run in New Orleans as well as an off-Broadway engagement in 2006. In 2008 Harry traveled to Berlin with the Pfister Sisters to serve as Musical Director for their show “Sing! Sing! Sing!”.

In New Orleans he has been the longtime Musical Director  for The Big Easy Awards. He has led The Harry Mayronne Jazz Band on many occasions at the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans, and in Chicago, Cincinnati and New York City. Harry recorded "Every Day Is Mardi Gras In Heaven" with the band, and he has also recorded with the Olympia Serenaders (featuring members of the Olympia Brass Band). He has composed music  with a variety of lyricists, and he scored the Canadian feature film “Lana in Love” which screened at the Berlinale in 1992. For his work as musical director of the Allways Lounge/Cripple Creek production of "The Threepenny Opera" in 2010, Harry received the Big Easy, Storer Boone, Ambie, and Marquee Awards.

Outside of New Orleans, Harry has been a featured performer in shows at Symphony Space and The National Arts Club, both in New York City, and he has been the musical director for several artists appearing in New York Cabarets. Harry Mayronne is a truly unusual artist, and in New Orleans, he enjoys the ultimate muse. Harry also performs with his own marionette creations, most recently in "Bustout Burlesque" "Hot Stuff!", the New Orleans comedy cabaret, and the first New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival.
