Eudunda - The Eudunda area was originally named Eudundacowi or Jadundakawi by the Nadjuri Aboriginal people who lived by the springs which inspired the name.  Eudundacowi literally translated means 'water out of the ground'.

Churches

  1. St Paul’s Lutheran Church 1886-1966.  Congregation amalgamated with Emmaus Lutheran Church 1967.

  2. St John’s Lutheran Church.  Congregation from 1870.  First church built in Emmaus in 1872.  Eudunda Emmaus Lutheran Church built 1884.  Amalgamated with St Paul’s Congregation to become St John’s Lutheran Church 1967 (Hannan St, Eudunda).

  3. St Hilda's Anglican Church.  Church built 1884 (Ward Street, Eudunda).

  4. Uniting Church.  Methodist Church built 1888 (10 Weigall St, Eudunda).

  5. St Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church.  Church built 1886.  Church demolished and ne church built on same site 1968  (Ward St, Eudunda)
