Did you know you have always been paying for a good portion of lost electricity?  The New York Times states that “66% of the energy produced for electricity is lost, 10% of that in transmission.” The hotter your machinery or other electrical devices get is an indication of how much line “noise” you may have.  If your devices are sharing a circuit or are physically located near devices that cause electromagnetic interference (motors, heavy machinery, radio transmitters, computers, air conditioning, air circulation fans, etc.) the line noise increases.
