SUMMER BASEBALL 2010

It’s time to start thinking about 2010 Summer Baseball!! The Glencoe Baseball Association will be hosting TWO INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS for parents of 3rd through 6th grade baseball players interested in playing Summer Baseball in 2010. These meetings will be held at the Glencoe Community Center. The first will be held on Wednesday, September 30 and the second will be held on Sunday, October 4. Both meetings will start at 7 PM and should last about an hour. There is NO need to attend both meetings (the agenda will be the same for both) but we would STRONGLY ENCOURAGE parents to attend. Among other topics we will talk about Glencoe Baseball and the goals for the summer program, talk about our entries in the 2010 Cooperstown Tournament, discuss our Winter Workout Program, and answer questions.

We would also like to announce that TRYOUTS for the 3rd through 6th grade 2010 Summer Baseball teams will be held on Friday, October 16 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 17 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Both of these tryouts will be held indoors at the Strike Zone in Glenview. We would encourage players to attend both sessions, but only one evaluation session is required.

Fall Ball 2009

Pinto and Stallion
Ages: Incoming 1st and 2nd graders
League dates: September 12 – November 1
Description:
The fall baseball program is a great way for players to maintain their baseball skills and/or transition to the next level of play. It consists of one game per week, played on Saturday or Sunday (rained-out games may be rescheduled on a week night). Parent volunteers will serve as coaches. The league commissioner and coached will construct balanced teams, based on player ratings and prior coach input (if available).

All games will be played in Glencoe against Glencoe teams.
Fee: $75

Mustang
Ages: Incoming 3rd and 4th graders
League dates: September 12 – November 1

Colt and Palomino Baseball Registration and Evaluations

Registration is ongoing for this Summer's Colt (15-17) and Palomino (17 through 21) baseball leagues at kwba.org. Just click on to the link at the top titled "League Information".
It will cost $230 to play a 14 to 18 game schedule involving teams from New Trier (consisting of Glencoe, Wilmette and Ken/Win players), Glenview, Northbrook, Deerfield and Lincolnwood. Games will be played on Fridays through Sundays, with teams playing two games per weekend. Games will start the weekend of June 6 and conclude with playoffs the weekend of August 2. These are fun, competitive baseball leagues for older kids who still love to play the great game of baseball, but who may no longer be playing on their school teams.
To try to create as balanced New Trier teams as possible, there will be an evaluation session held at Duke Childs field (at the corner of Willow and Forestway) on Sunday May 17. It wll last from 10 am until probably a little after noon.
Please register in advance at the kwba.org website. The cost will be $230.
NO PLAYERS WILL BE PLACED ON TEAMS UNLESS AND UNTIL THEY PAY THE $230 REGISTRATION FEE.
