Berlin Airlift photo exhibition
The German Culture Center-UMSL is presenting a traveling photo exhibition produced by the German Embassy depicting the 1948/49 Berlin Airlift,. The Embassy created the traveling museum exhibition in cooperation with experts of the Berlin Stiftung Luftbrückendank (Berlin Airlift Foundation).
The exhibition of 70 panels of photographs and text commemorates the 60th Anniversary of the Airlift. The traveling photo exhibition will tour the U.S. during 2008/2009.

OPENING EVENT featuring Andrei Cherny
200 attended the opening event on September 7, featuring a presentation by Andrei Cherny, author of “The Candy Bombers: The Untold Story of the Berlin Airlift and America’s Finest Hour.” His informative and moving speech was followed by a reception and special preview of the exhibition in the Mercantile Library on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus. Cherny flew on to New York and was on the CBS Early Show the next morning.
