Now we're ready

Aidan's Crib
Earlier this week Aidan’s baby furniture was delivered. We decided to get one of those cribs that converts into a toddler bed (kind of like a daybed) and then later into a full-size bed. We also got a dresser/changing table. You can see all the pictures here. We’re planning on replacing the picture above the crib with something a little more “kid-friendly” but Delia and I are not the best at picking that kind of stuff out. Believe it or not, that picture above Aidan’s crib is the only picture we have hanging on a wall in our entire house. We’re really quite boring.

I think the biggest problem with my numerous failed attempts at blogging has been my reluctance to use one of the many third party applications that already exist. For some reason I felt as a programmer I should create my own system for maintaining a blog. Create all the HTML, design and maintain the database and even host it on my own server. The problem is after trying to design something like that from the ground up, I realized I wasn’t spending enough time doing other stuff to have anything to write about. So, rather than reinvent the wheel just to prove I can, I’ve decided just to use what’s already out there and instead try to spend my time developing stuff that’s not out there. Plus, with the new baby on the way, it’s important to me and Delia to have a place where our distant friends and relatives can go to keep up on everything Loring. So, try to keep me honest. If I start slacking off and don’t update this thing, let me know.
