What is the difference between computer art and digital photography?
The computer art students use several programs including Flash. They are introduced to graphics, photo manipulation and animation. They create their own images or alter existing images so much that the artwork becomes their own. In both classes we use Web 2.0 apps, PhotoShop Elements, PhotoShop 7 and CS3 to edit images on the computer. But in digital photography, the projects are based on photos taken by the students themselves.
FOR MY STUDENTS, I EXPECT
...them to walk away from my classes with a better understanding of the world around them, photography and art. Knowing how to make artistic work and how to interpret the work of others. I hope they also finish my classes with a good feeling about themselves and what they accomplished!
FOR MYSELF, I EXPECT
...to be enthusiastic about the subjects I teach, and to continue developing my skills and artistic ability. I am an inquisitive life time learner and am currently working on an educational technology masters in SDSU’s COMET program. I was constantly curious about the world around me as a child and teenager. But what I was curious about changed from year to year. When I had an engaging and enthusiastic teacher, I became interested in whatever subject they were teaching. I hope I'm that kind of teacher.
