FLORA DAVIS
My inspiration comes from patterns: lichen on a rock,
pealing eucalyptus bark, a pebbly beach, or an old fire
hydrant exposing its layers of paint. Metal is my medium. Working like a Zen alchemist, I create my own
patinas by applying an eclectic mix of chemicals and compounds to metal. Through multiple applications,
I can achieve an amazing range of patterns, textures and colors. I work intuitively and see my work as surface oriented.
