Fenton Avenue Charter School
                                                               
Fenton Avenue Charter School’s teachers and staff are devoted to students.  Fenton’s committed faculty and staff manages year after year to raise all of its students to a high level of academic achievement through collaborating as professional educators, providing a nurturing environment for children, and creating a strong culture of learning. 


Fenton Teachers:
All classroom teachers have a valid teaching credential on file with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and have met the criteria for “highly qualified” status as per the regulations of No Child Left Behind.          

 Seven teachers have earned National Board Certification. 

 30% of the teaching staff hold Master’s Degrees.

Teachers participate in local, state and national conferences, workshops and                            seminars to increase their knowledge and competency in current methodologies and best practices in education.          

All teachers are members of one of four policy-making governing councils, and nearly all governing councils are chaired by teacher leaders. 
	
 Lead Teachers act as mentor teachers, grade level chairpersons, and provide     peer assistance to experienced teachers as needed.  

        Cognitive coaching, completion of graduate degrees, additional credentials and National Board Certification are professional growth activities encouraged within the teacher evaluation system.
