    Fenton Avenue Charter School The Content Standards for California Public Schools will continue to define the skills, knowledge and abilities students will be expected to master from second through fifth grades. Current state adopted textbooks and materials, and other supplementary resources, will establish the scope and sequence for each of the following curricular areas: English-Language Arts Mathematics History-Social Science Science Visual and Performing Arts Physical Education Special Education Gifted and Talented Education The Fenton Avenue Charter School curriculum fosters intellectual curiosity and achievement in its students while nurturing their emotional and social development. Our programs follow the California State Standards. We emphasize basic skill development through direct instruction and encourage children to become confident learners. Writing, mathematics, science, social studies and the arts are all taught within a structured classroom environment. Additionally, learning outside the classroom is encouraged.
