Advanced Placement United States History (APUSH) is a one-year survey course equivalent to an introductory college level history course in terms of content coverage and rigor.  The goal of the course is to provide you with a base knowledge of significant social, political, and economic events affecting the formation and subsequent course of our country, as well as the analytical skills necessary to formulate your own [informed] opinions.  We will do this by exploring multiple perspectives of historical events as much as possible (and as time allows).  Aside from passing the AP exam at the end of the year, the true end-goal is that you do not end up on some televised political spoof show, showcasing your ignorance to the world by willingly signing a petition to end women’s suffrage (if you don’t get this joke now, let’s hope you get it by the end of the year).

This website will be an integral part of the course as it contains everything you will need throughout the year - from class syllabus/course expectations to daily class and homework assignments, including lecture presentations and test reviews.

APUSH will be among your most challenging high school courses.  We must cover approximately 500 years of history in only seven months.  As challenging as this may seem, you can take comfort in the affirmations of our past and present icons:  “We can do it” (Rosie the Riveter), “Sí se puede,” (Cesar Chavez), and “ Yes we can” (hopefully obvious).

Good luck.  Now get to work.
