The lines shown above were cut with a burin into a copper plate, then printed on paper. This image is a small detail (enlarged 2X) from my print, Thought, which I engraved and printed in 1970.
Every engraving is unique in some way. Working processes often vary from one plate to the next, and different artists usually favor different methods of working.
