Apparently it was the biggest storm this area has seen in 90 years and from where we sat watching it, we aren’t at all surprised! After the blizzard conditions passed, we finally did make it outside to enjoy all that beautiful snow and start the LONG process of digging out. Matt thinks it’ll be Tuesday before we see our cars again. I’m just hoping mine will be available for our planned road trip in March! Thankfully, though, after doing yeoman’s work on the front walk (x3) and part of our enormous sidewalk, an industrious group of guys told Matt they’d do the rest of it and our driveway tomorrow for a surprisingly reasonable sum - and I think that will be the best money we ever spend. This way we can just enjoy being snowed in together, playing outside, sipping tea and cocoa to warm up by the fire, and looking forward to the next round of snow due on Tuesday!! (Can you tell that we are nothing if not Northerners at heart?)

Matt & I have formed such great friendships with so many of the other Moms and Dads and it’s been just a joy watching Jack and his playmates grow up and make so many memories together. The second round of babies is nearly complete now, and this new Rosemont 2.0 batch is just as adorable as the first! Will and I met one of them out for coffee this morning and as you can see from the smiles on their faces, there was a real love connection between these two. Thanks to sweet baby Madeline and her Mommy Lisa for a lovely morning! Let’s do it again soon.

We somehow make do with a lot of patience, some expert juggling, and the promise of seeing him in the morning, but tonight Jack was especially blue about it, so we did a quick video call with Daddy to lift his spirits and here’s the snapshot I took as we said good night! You’ll note Will looks utterly confused by the whole thing, but Jack is happy as a clam.

And speaking of wonderful fathers, a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GRANDPA, our favorite groundhog, who on February 2nd not only turned 71 years young but also saw fit to give us 6 more weeks of this glorious winter! We love you and we’ll see you soon!! XOXO

We swung on the tire swing, climbed on the swingset, raced around the yard throwing snowballs, rode the blue saucer, jumped in all the muddy melting snow puddles, and just marveled at the relatively warm weather...but for Jack, nothing held a candle to climbing in his beloved trees. The only thing that got him down was the promise of chocolate milk before his nap, and even that was touch and go for a while!

After a few minutes he said “Mommy, can you put Will here so he can see, too?” so I brought Will over and sat him down next to his big brother. I left them there for a few minutes and when I returned found this...the two of them sitting quietly, just holding hands. Have you ever seen anything SO sweet?!
