Okay, okay... once again, I have not been good about updating this blog (I warned you!), and several people have recently commented wondering where I’ve been. It’s actually flattering for me to hear. Sometimes I wonder who out there wants to reads this!
It’s now been over a year since Mike’s studio in Chicago closed, and we were forced to decide where to land next. Mike calls 2008 a “stupid” year. It’s definitely been one of change; living apart for over 5 months, moving across the country, finding new jobs, selling and buying houses in a bad market, settling in to Austin once again. Thank goodness 2009 is just around the corner.
Mike and I’ve had a good Fall- busy with family, friends, football, school/work, and just life. There are some weeks that go by SO fast, and the weekends even faster. It’s wonderful to have so many wonderful friends to spend time with. We’ve not taken that for granted. Just last night, I met up with Em, Laurel, Kyle, and Elle to spend time with our Aunt Kathy who is visiting from Ohio. And, it was a spur of the moment thing. I thought about that as we were sitting there- how lucky I am to be so close. Several dear friends have had babies this fall here in Texas. Again, to be near them, and to see their newborns. Awesome. I get to work with Emily every day- “it’s so fabulous.” In fact, over our Thanksgiving Break, I only spent time with her on Thursday- when I saw her again on Monday morning at school, I felt like I hadn’t seen her in ages! I’ve been able to hang out with friends getting coffee, brunches, lunches, dinners, movies, spa time, Book Club, and even partying during favorite TV shows. It’s nice to know that instead of just an email or phone call, people I’ve known for years- and new friends- are just a drive away.
We are very thankful. But, still a little sad. :)

5.Although I love technology, music, movies, etc- I can’t stand spending time at Best Buy. Take me to a book store any day.

7.I doubt we’ll live in Texas forever. Although we love Austin, the world is too big.
