Recall back to the time when the Chinese government first call out the 7 days national day holiday, what’s the reason behind this act?

Economic wise, extending the length of the holiday can boost the consumption. And I think the result is quite pleasing as all the originally busy streets are busy as Wall St. every single day during the 7 days holiday.

However, as time goes by, i discover that there might be several significant negative impact on the society caused by the long holiday.

1. -Vastly lowered efficiency and productivity before and after the holiday.
   

2. -A 7 days holiday nearly paralyses the entire country
   

3. -Students start to plan their next holiday before the school year starts in Sep.
   

4. -Massive effects on businesses. Deals are unlikely going to happen around the holiday period.
   

Well, these are just some points I came up with today while I still think there are more positive impacts than those negative ones I stated above. You’re welcome to add more or argue against.
