Pint Sized Fight Club at Circle Time - One Bad Idea

Two teachers at the Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas lost their jobs after reports that the teachers made children fight at the day care center. A concerned parent reported that 3 and 4 year old children were forced to fight during “Circle Time.” There were a total of 18 children in the class. Many of the children will be interviewed during the State and Local Investigation. Some of the children were bruised and physically injured during the teacher organized fights at “Circle Time.” The fights involved kicking, punching and pushing as part of the so called “game” concocted by the irresponsible teachers.
June Munsell, a spokesperson for the Department of Human Services, said that “the church has already taken corrective action by terminating the teachers, but we’ll need to determine whether management knew about the alleged activity or whether it was isolated to the staff.”
The idiot teachers some how thought that the fights at Circle Time would go unnoticed by the facility, parents, and officials. The teachers instructed the children not to tell their parents about the fights. Fortunately, a parent did come forward with enough information to require a formal investigation.
June Munsell stated that the fired teachers would have to take corrected action decided by the State before the teachers would be considered for re-employment at other day care facilities in the State of Arkansas.
Poor judgment would be the words best used to describe these teachers. A child could have been seriously injured for the sole purpose of giving the teachers some entertainment and theater during the work day. The Circle Time fights also set a terrible example for the 3 and 4 year olds who needed care, supervision, and instruction while at the day care center.
Parents reading this newsletter should also refrain from using the Circle Time Fight Club model in the home. Pitting two children against each other in a fist fight is just wrong and would certainly show careless parenting, neglect, and abuse that would subject a parent to a criminal investigation and prosecution. While your kids may drive you crazy, don’t resort to kid fights to solve their problems or yours.
