How to install the Dashboard widget (Mac)

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is required to run RAEútil 1.05 properly. If you are running Tiger we encourage you to download RAEútil 0.7. If you're using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you're using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

How to install the Yahoo! Widget (Windows & Mac)

  1. Download and install Yahoo! Widgets Engine application version 4.5 or later, if you have not done so already, for Windows or Mac OS X -depending on your operating system- and a starter set of Widgets from http://widgets.yahoo.com/download (hint: click "Get Started Now" button from Yahoo!'s webpage).

    Note that some installations require an administrator's ID and password, depending on your privileges.

  2. Download, unzip and double click the Widget: RAEútil 0.96

  • Is there an iPhone and iPod Touch version of RAEútil?

    1. Yes, dowload it from:

  • Why should I use RAEútil instead of my Web browser?

    Because it:

    1. integrates DRAE, DPD and the word of the day in a single window,

    2. looks up any word, in a definition, just double clicking on it,

    3. is lighter (<300Kb) and faster than any conventional Web browser,

    4. is more groovy! ;)

  • F.A.Q. for the Dashboard widget (Mac)

    1. I have updated the widget from Mac OS X 10.5.7, but the older version still remains.

      To solve this problem just restart the Dashboard, your session or the computer.

    2. I have downloaded RAEútil, but when I try to expand the file I get an error.

      Use Safari to download the widget instead. It downloads, expands and intalls the widget all in one step.

      Stuffit Expander seems to have problems when trying to expand files compressed previously with the default archive file handler in Mac OS X.

    3. I have dowloaded RAEútil 1.05 and it does not work in Tiger (Mac OS 10.4.x)

      The proper version of RAEútil for Tiger (10.4.x) is 0.7. Download version 1.05 if you are running Mac OS 10.5.x.

    4. I have been using your widget without any problem and after downloading and installing the latest version it does not work any more.

      Erase the widget´s old prefrenences. For that, inside your Home, go to Library/Preferences and remove the file widget-com.eludens.widget.RAEutil.plist
