In 2001, our current city council member was asked during debates, if he would DOUBLE SPENDING on parks. He said YES but I said NO. Parks are beautiful and necessary but the best way to protect essential services, our senior citizens, and our children is not by irresponsibly promising spending increases just to get elected. We are all struggling in these tough economic times in part because our leaders donʼt take unpopular but necessary action.
As President of my local Rotary Club, Iʼve worked to improve our community parks, reduce AIDS transmission from mothers to children, help our Veterans, and to increase environmental awareness. As a candidate, I practice what I preach by avoiding wasteful use of paper-- please email our campaign and
rather than paper mailings, we will email you our campaign literature.
Our economic system has been shaken to the core. We need fresh new progressive Democrats who are not part of the Establishment that created the mess we are in. For too long weʼve had politicians take the easy way out, trying to please everyone by saying “yes.” We need someone who isnʼt afraid to TALK STRAIGHT TO THE VOTERS.
I urge you to join our campaign and vote for me, someone from humble beginnings, someone who knows what it takes to lift himself up out of poverty and remembers what it is like to be there. When elected, I promise to be up front and truthful with my constituents, to address the important issues facing our
community and our nation.
