Loree Lynn is a motivator unlike anyone I have ever known. At 65, she has spent her entire adult life as a professional entertainer, while at the same time being both a teacher, a coach and a friend to aspiring artists – refusing to let them forsake their own hopes and dreams.
That Loree does this all from a wheelchair – a result of a polio contracted during the 1950s, and more recently a fractured left foot and broken right leg from chair falls – is just part of the familiar history that blends into the background for those of us who have been her fans and loving friends.
In fact, Loree is my best friend and has been for nearly 40 years. I have seen her work miracles in the lives of her clients – young and old – rich and poor – social and even anti-social personalities. I have watched individuals heal from repeated invalidation as a result of Loree’s specialized training and genuine affection.
I would be surprised if Ellen didn’t warm to Loree immediately and enjoy helping her spread her long told message “it is not what you cannot do that defines you, but what you can do”. She has helped hundreds of others – seemingly stopped by fluctuating motivation, blunted confidence, lack of resources, too much discouragement, infirmity, etc., -- attain expression for their performing arts talent.
Now that I use a cane, and sometimes a wheelchair to make sure I get every place I want to go, I have an internal realization of just how extraordinary my dear friend is and the true value of her contributions to this world of ours.
Speaking of our present-time world, it is Loree’s belief, one echoed by many of us, that the world would be in better hands if it were wrestled from the politicos and opportunists and handed over to those with an understanding of the power of art to unite humankind of goodwill, everywhere.

If you don’t mind my saying so, I think of you as my own personal angel sent by God to manifest in my life what I have dreamed of for son long, and have struggled so hard to develop myself.
