finally getting to start the cruise trip report!!
Sunday, August 9, 2009
Sorry for the delay folks. Since we left the Magic a week ago - I have had little to NO time to even start looking at doing this trip report. So now that I have arrived in Seattle and its 7am and I am wide awake and have some time - I figured I could start the report.
Saturday - July 25
We started this morning by double checking that the bags were packed with all the needed items and ALMOST got it right (more on this later). We kissed Miss G goodbye, told her to be good for Jennifer (our fabulous cat sitter) and headed south! After an hour on the road - we stopped to get a good breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Palm Coast. After breakfast - we continued south on 95 - and made the left hand turn and headed toward Port Canaveral right about 1000am. We soon saw the Magic in the distance -

We pulled up to the terminal and I dropped Chris off with our bags and went to park the car. Chris took some photos while I was gone.

I found Chris in the security line and we quickly made it through the line, up the escalators and through the checkin process. We had considered looking at an upgrade to a porthole cabin, however, after being told we’d have to stand in a separate line that was quickly growing, we opted not to change cabins. We were in boarding group #4 and after finding a spot on one of the couches, Chris went to take a few photos of the terminal.

Not too longer after we had a seat, we spoke with the rest of the crew who were still at their hotel and were not planning on leaving for about another hour. We heard them start calling boarding and within about 15 minutes, we were walking though the ear boarding gangway and taking our boarding photo.

After being welcomed onboard - we headed to get some lunch up at Topsiders.

Not too much later - I saw a little girl walk by that looked much like my niece, but I had not heard from anyone, so I was sure it could not have been her... and then I saw her again - and it WAS Jolene. She had her brother in tow - and then my dad and my aunt, uncle and cousin arrived. We were only missing my mother - who had gone to find the kids some food. We staked out a couple of tables and got lunch - and eventually mom found us.
I gave my nephew his new camera (my old camera) and he went nuts with the opportunity to take photos (and so did “uncle” Chris). After lunch, we said see you later to the gang and headed to Cabin 7001.
