Dominion 3: The Sacrifice

The Dominion Trilogy Synopsis

In Dominion: Gabriel’s Fire we introduced Gabriel Synclair, a man with a criminal past who has changed directions in life. He and his wife Dedra now operate his deceased father’s café, employing several locals. Ezra, the local nightclub owner, and the current mover of drugs and firearms, resents Gabriel’s intrusion into his domain. Ezra doesn’t readily buy into Gabriel’s proclamation of Christianity, as he remembers when Gabriel was a player himself before being convicted and sent upstate to prison. Opposing Ezra is the gangbanger Johnny, whose long time feud with Ezra moves inexorably towards a gun battle. We also introduced Nicole, a single mother, and her daughter Gracie; Sarge the Vietnam veteran; Officer Mayes, the police woman assigned to the area; Erica, the young girl who was shot in the back and crippled by one of Ezra’s thugs; and Jay, who only discovered he was Gracie’s father after shooting her in a random violence incident. Looming over this neighborhood is the demon Belial, his primary function being the destruction of anyone serving the Lord. His dominion was seriously challenged and Gabriel, reacting to the killing of Gracie, prayed for her and the Lord powerfully intervened and brought her back to life.

In Dominion: War Crimes the demon Belial, reeling from the Lord’s power unleashed through the believers, mounts an all out offensive to crush the Christian uprising. We also introduce Cherae, a young teen who when found pregnant was kicked out of her house by her mother. Gabriel and DD extend kindness and support to her as she wrestled with the obvious alternatives to her pregnancy. Ezra continued his dominance of the neighborhood, but when one of his men assaulted and beat Gabriel’s employee Leticia, the old Gabriel surfaced in uncontrollable rage. Before Gabriel could carry out his own vengence the gangbanger Johnny provided Leticia with a weapon and she killed her offender. Unfortunately, the responding police, unaware of the situation, had to shoot Leticia to keep her from injuring anyone else. In the midst of this tragedy the Lord once again powerfully intervened affecting the life of the crippled girl Erica. In the concluding scene of the play a war broke out between the angels of the Lord and Belial and his horde, and while this battle ensued around Erica in her wheelchair, she was healed and restored to health.

In Dominion: The Sacrifice the believers are adjusting to Erica, the crippled girl who is now walking, and awaiting Leticia’s release from the hospital. Johnny and his gang have different ideas concerning Leticia, namely keeping her under their protection, and punishing both Gabriel and Ezra for their roles in failing to protect her. Jay, who was a longtime associate of Ezra, is attempting to make positive changes in his life, and to become a father to his daughter Gracie. Building trust with Nicole and Gracie will be no easy task. Gabriel desires that no other lives should be lost, and believes in faith for a dramatic outpouring of God’s power and goodness to stop the violence, and to bring others to Christ.  Belial, always sowing hatred in the hearts of men, will be challenged by a lone warrior of great power, the angel Michael. Ultimately, the very fabric of the believers’ faith will be tested as the Dominion Trilogy concludes.
