I want to thank everyone for their support and keeping Parkdale Funk a go-to site. Keep listening as Parkdale Funk's young and still growing. Along with Parkdale Funk turning a year old, it's also the last day of summer! So let's turn the heat back up with a reggae work out. Since my previous reggae mix from Dec '07 I've been getting non stop requests for a new reggae mix, so as my gift back to the listeners, here's a one hour Jamaican run down. We got 45s, 10"s, 12"s and LPs!

On a separate note, big things are coming to Parkdale Funk! The site is getting a full revamp - a new cleaner layout, much faster navigations and direct MP3 download. But don't worry, the podcast will remain in tact and the mixes will top shelf quality. For the unveiling, I have lined up a very special guest mix from one of the US's biggest crate diggers! Ohh big tings a gwanin'!

So enjoy the riddims (sorry for the hissy records) and remember that I'll be playing records tonight at Mitzi's Sister 1554 Queen St. W Toronto Canada 9-12PM.

Playlist:

1. (Intro) Hon. Michael Manley M.P. - Budget Speech (Education & National Service)
2. Hugh Roy & Hopeton Lewis - Drive Her Home (Duke Reid)
3. U.
Well it's been exactly two months since I posted a new mix of my own, but I'm back and here to stay. I've moved into a new place (yes, still in Parkdale) and I finally got the decks set up and the 45's unpacked. I pulled out some gems for this mix, it's one of my favourites from past shows.

I never single out tunes from my podcasts, but the first track on here is worth its weight in gold. I've been after this track for years and it finally popped into my needy little hands. It's an instrumental cover of Syl Johnson's classic tune "Is it because I'm black" (one of my all time favourite songs), but the horn on this version just put shivers down my spine. Give it a good listen.

I hope you enjoy this all 45 mix.

Playlist:

1. Larry "T-Bird" Gordon - Is it because I'm Black? (Movin')
2. Fried Chicken - Funky D.J. (Stone)
3. The Ba-Roz - Mocking Bird (Pisces)
4. The Blue Rhythm Combo - Take That Funky Feeling (Merry Disc Barbados)
5. Alvin Christy - I Don't Know What You Got (Pine Point)
6. The Mousetrap - Rhymetyme (Scott)
7. Roy Meriwerher Trio - Jesus Christ Superstar (Notes Of Gold)
8. Marsha Hunt - Hot Rod Poppa
9. Cold Blood - I'm A Good Woman (Atlantic)
10. Brenda Devlin - Were You Ever Lonely (Road)
11. One G Pus Three - Summertime (Gordo)
12. Larry Houston - I Need Love (Ambassador)
13.
