Dirt is beautiful is an expression towards observing everything in the world as beauty and to think positive. Dirt is all around us. The piling of mountains, the compression of rocks, but dirt has the reputation of being on the negative side of things: what ends up under your boots after a day of hiking, or the deposits of a “dirty” diaper, or whatever connotations associated with the “dirt”bag. Happiness suggests to view the negative as positive. This achieves the open mind needed to gather all sides of all stories, and in turn enabling oneself to make logical decisions about one’s own life, family/community, country, and world. What it comes down to is that the mountains are beautiful, the body’s functions are beautiful, our different life choices are beautiful, and finally the dirt-the unknown, the ugly, the negative, the challenge-those are all part of the human condition, which is beautiful. So think “Dirt is Beautiful” anytime you don’t feel like leaving the couch for a hike, or get in a heated argument, or find fault in the human body and mind, and turn the past negative thinking into a full commitment to the beauty the world has to share.
