Baby Shower

Today at work my sweet friends threw us a baby shower. It was a precious time to enjoy my work friends as we celebrate the upcoming arrival of our little Chloe.

There was lots of yummy food!

Melinda makes these hats for all the little babies born at Covenant and I was so excited to finally have one of my very own. Mom says its not nice to covet others hats, but I really wanted little Chloe to have one.

My friend Becky made this ADORABLE "C" for her! Now I need an "HLOE" to go with it!

And then there was the "group gift" that everyone contributed to...12 cloth diapers (yes...we wanted them!), a diaper pail, diaper pail bag liner, cloth wipes, laundry detergent, and diaper liners.

And these are my DEAR friends Christine and Kristen who put on the whole show and organized everything! AMAZING, they are!

And little Chloe was there for it all....

9 weeks to go until our little girl is here! I am getting more excited everyday!

Chicago Trip With Claire

Last week our friend Claire flew into town for a few days. On Saturday she and I rode the Megabus to Chicago for a fun filled weekend of relaxation and adventure. (Click to see the pictures below)

I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chicago!

Claire scored big time when she secured a last minute sweet deal on Priceline for a room at The Palmer House Hilton. We were three blocks from Millennium Park.

After settling in to our hotel on Saturday afternoon we wandered down to Millennium Park where Target was sponsoring free admission to the new Modern Wing at The Art Institute. They were giving away free food and drinks and have live bands playing outside the Art Museum. So we thanked Target and went inside. The new Modern Wing has relatively small exhibits, but is very cool.

After strolling through the gardens and sitting in the sun for awhile, we headed down to Giordano's for some fabulous deep dish pizza....and it was so worth the hour wait and nearly getting sat on by some lady at the bar who couldn't keep herself in her seat.

On Sunday we caught the bus up Michigan Avenue for an early lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and then wandered up to The Signature Lounge on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building. This is one of my favorite things to do in Chicago because it is so beautiful from the Claire's reaction to the view from inside the women's bathroom was priceless! We spent the rest of the day shopping and ordered room service when we got home!

We spent our last day at Navy Pier. We had lunch at a Mexican Cantina where Claire had "the best quesadilla she had ever eaten." We rode the Ferris Wheel, and although we were both very scared, agreed that it provides some of the most beautiful views of Chicago from Lake Michigan.

We spent the rest of the afternoon strolling through Millennium Park again where we visited The Bean and took in the tulips. Claire was mesmerized by their beauty everywhere we went because they were....everywhere we went.

We also managed to wander down to Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park where the wind was chilly and blowing water on us!

What a fun time we had! This pregnant mama couldn't move near as fast as I once could, but we had a fun and relaxing time nonetheless! Thank you Claire for such an adventure!

Weekend With April’s Family

This Easter weekend we had a special treat: April’s dad (Ken) and his family (Margaret & Ian) came and spent the weekend with us! Fantastic fun! We went all over: the arch, City Museum, the brewery, and a Cardinal’s game—despite the cold weather. It was great to spend time with them again and reconnect and relax and have fun, something Dan needed a lot after a very hard two weeks at school. Check out the pictures!
