"Youlgrave Village Hall was formally reopened on the 10 December 2005. On behalf of the village, Matthew Parris thanked the National Lottery Community Fund for their financial help and congratulated the committee for the tireless DIY effort in refurbishing the building. On the same occasion, Tony Harris, Chairman East Midlands Heritage Lottery Fund, formally opened the two photographic displays that were financed by the Heritage Lottery Fund and that now adorn the interior of the main hall.
Volunteers refurbished the kitchen with finance provided by a grant from Waste Recycling Group using land-fill tax money. Our Committee is similarly grateful for the many smaller grants provided for individual improvements including a generous individual donation that funded new showers. Running expenses are financed by entirely by voluntary fund-raising and lettings."
