Interview #1

Coleman was my best friend growing up. He was an immensely talented artist, from a very young age. I remember bringing home one of his drawings and showing it to my mom. “Who did this?” she said. “My friend Coleman.” She didn’t believe me, and I was sent to my room for lying. Maybe it was the pressure of being so gifted that drove him to a more dangerous crowd, or maybe he was just interested in the dark side. “I’ve always had kind of a self-destructive side.” he said to me. This interview was conducted on the day he was released from jail, still on probabtion. The crime was drug related.
