Understanding our Lord's Church Building Work
All Christians believe the words of our Lord when He said, "I will build My church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). But when we look around at the church as it appears today, it seems that man's hands have interfered with His building.
If we are to work together with our Lord in church building today, what do we do? What is our understanding of His work today? How can we build the church so that more confusion and compromise don't result?
First we looked at three perspectives of the church historians: the evolutionary, restoration and recovery views of how the church is being built. Then we established some principles upon which the church can be built in order to move toward readiness as the Lord's Bride.
