“Thomas said to Him, My Lord and my God !“
John 20:28
They told me that he is alive.
I just can’t believe it. I saw him on that cross, nailed. I saw him bleed when that spear was thrust into his side. I saw him gave up his last breath. I saw them wrap him in linen. I was there.
He is alive? I don’t think so. He was very dead when I left that tomb. "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
He could not be alive. There’s Lazarus, that he rose from the dead, but that’s different. He is dead he can’t rise himself up. These people are hallucinating.
It’s been days, I don’t see any Jesus anywhere? He can’t be alive. I may want to forget about it because, I could be dead if I don’t, and somebody, please lock the door.
Then He showed up and said “Peace be with you.” How? The door is locked, there’s no other way.
Then he looked at me. He did not blink.“Look at my hands, put your finger in these nail holes. Come, put your hand in my side.”
“Stop doubting and believe.”
I’m shaking. It’s him. It’s really him. I don’t have a face to show to him. I’m trembling in reverence. He is alive. He is talking to me. What can I say?
Now I believe. He is not just a man. He is God. He is my God. I have nothing left of me, I will give it all to him. He is worth all my devotion, my worship, my life, my all.
Stories were told that Thomas traveled east as far as India preaching Jesus and became a martyr. Thomas believed. He made Jesus God of his life. Have you made the same decision yet?
