Latest from Ed (Club Manager)

Updated 17/5/12
It’s a welcome sign and good news at last, to see an entry made for the yard. Neighbourly was the first horse to show signs of the bug and if she got in on Sunday, it would be fantastic to see her run on strongly. Paul tells me that many of the horses are ready to rock now and it will be great to get the show on the road again. Heliogirl will most likely feature for the club and we have Golan Go back training. Duers and Carutomark appreciate a sound surface, so hopefully the summer is on the way for them.

I won’t be having a bet on anything from “Team Magnier”, until they’ve had a run but I do intend to follow Pat Reynolds tips. The last week he’s been on fire all together and I’d imagine Pricewise in the Racing Post will be getting twitchy. Pat’s results are blowing these guys out of the water. A yard that is firing on all cylinders at the moment is Ballydoyle. If they are ever going to get Frankel beat, it will be this Saturday. The way I see it going is that So You Think will contest the lead and wind it up. Excelebration will sit and see how things pan out. Frankel’s pacemaker will only assist this game plan. Frankel can’t let So You Think off the leash a la “Homecoming Queen”, he’ll never see him again. Excelebration is a top calss animal itself. It will be a great race. If they can’t get him beat on Saturday, they won’t be beating him ever. - Ed

Horse news from Paul Magnier

Carutomark is cantering away at the farm clocking up milage. She worked for the first time this year last Saturday and she appears to still have some of her ole interest. 17/5/12.

Duers will run next in Punchestown in a conditions chase. He worked the other day up Walsh’s Hill very well. I will have him scoped after his next piece but he appears to be well. His coat could be more forward.

Golan Go started back cantering on Monday last so he is now back in training. He is sound and enjoying himself. In thirty days or so he will start to bit of work. 17/5/12.

Some of Stablegate Racing Club members enjoy a club gathering up in Boyle. Ed Conroy organized the gathering and a good time was had by all. 10/12/11.

What our members are saying

"Within a few days of joining I was standing in the parade ring at Punchestown being part of the discussion as to how the horse will/had run. It was great to feel that suddenly you are now actually part of racing rather than just a spectator. Can't recommend the experience highly enough"

- David Betts new member

“I’ve been involved in various syndicates the past 15 years and this racing club is without doubt, the best value for money I’ve ever had. I joined in April 2010 and we’ve had 3 winners and 4 places already.”
- Tom Casey, Longford.

“I can’t believe what you get for €50 a month. We’ve had 26 runs so far in 2010. I just love to go racing and this club is perfect for me.”
- Myles Quinn, Limerick.

“3 winners in 4 days, I was on a high for weeks …..
- Michael Snype, Strokestown, Co : Roscommon

“Paul Magnier is the most down to earth horseman I’ve ever met. Clear, honest and forthright about everything. His quips alone, are worth going racing for. Great bunch of lads involved as well!
I look forward to racing with this group even on losing days.”
- Feargail Quinn, Boyle, Co: Roscommon
