We’ve had a wonderful summer. It’s been a good combination of busyness and out of the ordinary mixed with simplicity and normalcy. Ainsley did great in her swimming lessons. She is our little fish who has no fear to attempt anything when it comes to water. She did everything her teacher asked of her. Ainsley delights in the water and really loved her teacher, Ms. Lynn. My highlight was when she was floating on her back singing “Jesus Loves Me”. I wish I got that on video! Now we are enjoying a week of soccer camp. British Soccer Camp has been a great experience. “Coach Matt” is from England and has such a sweet nature. Ainsley’s favorite game is when Coach Matt acts like a monster and she gets to chase him. Braxton has enjoyed our week outside playing soccer too. The field is his playground, and I think he likes kicking the ball more than Ainsley does!

Ainsley, Braxton, and I are happy to be back with Brian. We spent 2 weeks in Texas without him. We sure did miss him! But we had fun visiting family throughout the great state. We flew into Dallas, drove to Houston, drove to Luling, then to Austin, then back to Dallas. It delights me to go back to my roots and give my kids a glimpse of where they came from. As I spent time with so much family, I felt very thankful for the people who made me who I am. I hope I have taken something from each of them, because they are as good as it gets. I also got to spend time with good friends who I miss. When we get together, it is like no time has passed.

We’re enjoying our life together. We love being together. One of the things we are enjoying together the most this summer is our trips to get ice cream. We love sitting outside eating ice cream together.
