New Quay is a picturesque Victorian fishing village with safe sandy beaches flanked by stunning coastline. The village was immortalised by Dylan Thomas in “Under Milk Wood” as one of the main sources for “Llaregub”. The historic Black Lion Inn, dating from the 16th Century and reputedly Thomas’ favourite pub sits just below one of our properties.
New Quay Bay is famous for its dolphins and is one of the best sailing and boating harbours in Cardigan Bay with safe launching possible at all states of the tide. The harbour (pictured above) is free from dangerous currents and has a roped off swimming area. There is a wealth of local walks along the stunning coast line as well as inland. The Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is nearby. Click here for our New Quay photo gallery
