Something I’ve been thinking about lately: “What words/phrases in a blurb make a book irresistible? What words/phrases will make you put the book back down immediately?”
Interestingly enough (or maybe not), little catch phrases don’t work for me. I’m all about the substance. I like books with battles, books where the characters struggle to overcome, books where the characters grow and change. I read such a wide variety of books. Almost everything appeals.
Ok but there are a few words that will make me run screaming into the night like: “romance”, “will she find her heart’s desire”, “can he learn to love again”- basically anything that sounds remotely like a romance novel.
So what about you? How did you answer this question?
