It was a fabulous trip! In the course of the week we did get to visit the French Quarter one evening. It was cold the whole week we were there and that really cuts down on the street night life. I got just less than a couple hours to bum around, visit a few interesting shops, but mostly take shots. For some reason I am lately “into” taking pictures through windows. I like the effects at night that it creates when you get the combined images of whatever is inside the building, plus the reflections in the window of what is across the street. Enjoy!

I am actually just beginning to figure out how to get the best night shots. Of course New Orleans at night offers lots of opportunity to work and so I took advantage of the little time I had to capture the play of light and shadows on the unique architecture of the French Quarter. The worst of it was that I didn’t have a tripod with me - but here is some of the best that I managed before the rest of the team finished their “refreshments” and got tired of waiting for me. Cheers!

I had to take Erika downtown to the concert she was singing in and the sights along the way were so beautiful I had to get my camera and spend some time... I was trying some experimental pictures which didn’t really turn out at all, but these are “nice”... I was frustrated that I just couldn’t QUITE capture the live beauty of these decorated homes.

It was just such a pleasure for me to be able to shoot it! I loved all the wedding party and all their friends at the reception. The church was also very beautiful!

Things WERE a bit hectic and there just wasn’t time at all to take all the pictures we wanted to before and after the wedding. I know Kimmy really wanted a picture of her in her mother’s house on the stairway - just like her mother and grandmother had - but it just didn’t work out. But this wedding really proved that whatever kinds of “problems” there might be, it can STILL be an awesome time! The one thing that was really neat about Kimmy was that she just smiled and enjoyed every minute of it all - no matter what was happening that wasn’t according to the plans. This wedding was MORE than everything coming off flawlessly. AWESOME!

Enjoy a few sample picts!

There was a lot to see and below are a few of the shots - mainly of the Capitol. Enjoy!

below is my daughter Hannah (left) and her friend in front of the pink colored fountain (Breast Cancer month!) Then there is the whole group inside the Capitol building.
