We try to update at least once per week, more if we can or have something worth showing off to everyone. Please leave the kids comments, they get a big kick out of reading them. We’re also still working on building a page that looks nice, is easy to read and makes it look like we know what we are doing.

--Chris and Meagan

We finally got a web album up with some pictures from the last part of Steven and Kristi’s visit. It got really crazy here the last 2 weeks. We had another foster placement that we were sort of expecting.

The two boys in the picture above, sitting next to Ben are Cameron (left) and Christopher (right). They are 3 and 4 respectively, so Ben has been really enjoying some boys to pal around with and raise a ruckus. Ben has had his jealous moments, but he has been a really really good boy about it all. If I can say one tremendous aspect of fostering, its that it has really taught our children what empathy really means. Emma and Ben have been incredible at trying to put themselves in these boy’s shoes and think about what it would be like if it were happening to them.

As for Christopher and Cameron, they are such great kids, a real blast to have around. They have great manners, are respectful everyone and are genuinely thoughtful. Whatever their history, they have come through pretty well so far.

Meagan has enjoyed her first week or so at home with all the kids, she’s run them ragged being outside whenever the weather allows it. To say that she is in her element would be an understatement. She is in heaven.

Ben has started Tee-Ball and is playing for the Astro’s of the South Lexington Youth Baseball League. He’s bored to tears in the outfield with the other 4 year olds, but until we get his throwing accuracy up, he’s pretty much stuck there. On the other hand, he’s loving the hitting.

Emma is getting a much deserved break from Cheerleading, though she did have her tryouts for the next season and should know pretty soon at which level she will be competing with in the fall.

We have added a new gallery so go check it out.

-Chris

First off, Cody went to live with his Aunt on friday morning. He was a great baby, and we both feel really blessed to have been able to take care of him, even if it was just for two weeks. We miss him already.

Friday evening, Steven and Kristi arrived for visit for the first part of their Spring Break. We had an action packed Saturday starting with an Egg hunt at a local fire station, a tee ball practice for Ben while everyone else wandered into a second Egg hunt at a different park. We came back home and the kids were outside all afternoon until the Final Four games came on and there was no longer any adults to supervise! The kids left filthy dirt rings on the bathtub. It was a pretty impressive display of how hard kids can play.

Lastly, we expect two little boys named Cameron and Christopher to arrive in Lexington and in our home sometime Monday from Ohio. It sounds like it has been a roller coaster for them the last few months, so hopefully we can start to provide a stable situation.

Here is a web gallery of some of the photos from this weekend.

-Chris

That is what you call some hardware! Their team won their level and it was extremely exciting to watch. It was a great long weekend in Nashville and a big payoff for a very long year of very hard work.

By the way, the trophy and the banner were nice but the real reward it appeared, were the jackets the girls received for being National Champs. That was where the real excitement became evident!

The big trophy came home with us for the week, until we take it back to the gym next week. Emma was pretty excited to lug it back to Lexington.

Its been a long day, so sometime tomorrow I will post a gallery of our pictures from the competition and hopefully the movie of their winning routine. Stay tuned.

-Chris

He was 7lbs 3oz and has a head full of a dark hair. We went to pick him up at UK hospital at 6pm and Ben and Emma couldn’t wait for us to get back home so they could see him! It really was pretty exciting. We’ve got a small web gallery up of a few pictures from tonight. I didn’t even look at them before putting them up, so if there is a bad one....deal with it!

So far, he’s doing all the things he should be doing and looks to be in perfect health. We really have no info on his situation and probably won’t until our 5 day Family Team Meeting. However long he is with us, it should prove exciting.

Needless to say this throws some chaos into our trip to Nashville on Friday, but we’ll see how it all plays out.

Oh yeah, and the cats won tonight in Omaha!!!!! On to South Bend and a matchup with Notre Dame.

-Chris

Now I know exactly what you went through. Really...I’ve known for a long time, but these days they are like twins. I really can’t describe it any fashion that does either of them justice. I love them both so much and its so funny that two people can be so alike.

In our brackets, Ben has lost 3 of his Final Four teams, with only Purdue still in the mix. Emma, Meagan and I still have all 4 left. In terms of total picks, I’m finally beating Meagan for a change.

If any school needs a head basketball coach, I hear UK is shopping theirs around looking for an upgrade. Sheesh, now I know how Notre Dame football fans feel.

I’m trying to update much more regularly, but I’ve got a busy work week before we leave for Nashville on Friday, but I promise lots of pictures and some video of Emma’s competition on the big stage.

-Chris
