G8 MINI Flags... why some got the “S”

I found this at NextAutos... used to be Winding Road?

Seems BMW/MINI has prepared 9 MINIs for the G8 Conference in Hokkaido, Japan. 8 having flags of the representing country; Japan, Russia, USA, France, Germany, Canada, Italy & England, with 1 MINI getting the Euro Union flag. France, Germany and England getting the “S” the rest got Coopers.

I’m wondering why some, Germany, France & England got the “S”, wrongly quoted by NextAutos as “supercharged,” and the others got Coopers? Well, I can understand why England and Germany but seems if they are doing a “World Unity” thing they should have at least had equal numbers of both “S” and Coopers. But then you have the problem of “Why did we get a Cooper?” Or, “Why did we get an “S” ?” Nah, that wouldn’t happen, Sorry Cooper lovers.

Then there’s the Euro Union flag? That one leaves me completely baffled? Nothing against the EU but what does that have to do with the G8 Conference as not all nations shown are in the EU? I think only 4, France, Germany, Italy and England, are members of the EU the other 4 countries, Japan, Russia, USA, Canada, are not. Odd?
