We are a small, family operated farm in the Lakes Region of western Maine.

We have been in business since 1990 when we took a trip to the Midwest and bought our first two black Clydesdale mares, Blackgate Faith and Blackgate Highland Dream, from Steve and Elaine Jones and their sons in Topeka, Indiana, after Dr. Michael and Cheri Moleski pointed us in their direction.

In the years since, we have come to love not only the black Clydes, but also bays and sporthorse crosses.

Other than Dream and our herd sire, Cedarlane Grover, our herd is all bred and born at Ballabeg Farm.

About our farm

Top two pictures show several of our brood mares with their foals.  The bottom image shows sporthorse crosses.
