Country Gate Players Presents Original Youth Musical “That Weird Kid”

Country Gate Players will present the youth musical, "That Weird Kid", August 14, at 8:00 p.m., as well as, August 15 and 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Country Gate Playhouse,114 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ.  

"That Weird Kid" is an original production created by co-director Bill Scurato of Harmony Township.  According to Scurato, "the show focuseson the qualities and values that make all kids unique, special and....all right, sometimes a little weird.  But in a definitely good way."  As Dayton Middle School prepares for its annual spring musical, everyone is flabbergasted when Lindsey (Hannah Riley, of Belvidere), the perennial star of the school, is passed over for the "leading" role, in favor of quiet unassuming Isabelle (Joelle Thsudy, of

Belvidere). What follows is a series of chaotic schemes and plots culminating in lots of fun for the audience and an eventual happy ending for all the kids.

Other principal roles in "That Weird Kid" are played by Paige Hann of Harmony, Tory DeBenedetto, of Shawnee, Cody and Katie Clinebell of Oxford, Jimmy DeBenedetto of Belvidere, as well as Brian and Colin

Mazelis of Washington.

The fine supporting cast is made up of Belvidere residents Alexis Arno, Andre Colluom, Jaimie Hajduk, Daniel Hajduk, Emily Hajduk, Raymond Yoely, Melody Ciraky, Luke Ciraky, and Nikko DeBenedetto.  

Also included in the cast are: Alana Dent and Ainsley Cooper, of Bangor; Alex Cunningham and DeAnna Marino, of Easton; as well as ,Amanda Lazochak and Kaitlym Moore, of Phillipsburg.

Featured as special guest artists in the production are Country Gate regulars Vinny Foti, of Stewartsville, and Dan Mazelis, of Washington.
