Hello and Welcome! I’m Jill Kiefer--an art historian and teaching artist--and the Founder and Director of Port-of-Arts Ltd. Now...I didn’t create any of the paintings featured on this page! (I should be so gifted!) But works such as these have inspired me. They represent just a few examples of art that lends insights into humanity--with all of our warts and wonders! Art transcends the boundaries that separate us. Art is that unique place where we can meet to discover, learn about, and come to understand and appreciate one another. Art is our common ground--that place where all the rest becomes trifles!  

In 1987, I established Port-of-Arts to provide opportunities for lifelong learners to explore doing and learning about art. It’s been my mission and my passion ever since! The journey has inspired my own creativity—and has deepened my love and understanding of the arts. Over the course of Port-of-Arts’ lifetime--programs have been broadened to include the broader Humanities, Film History and Appreciation, Digital Arts, and a wide variety of Crafts.

Port-of-Arts services include single-session presentations, short- and long-term classes, study abroad programs, art holidays, local on site events, and online study. We design and lead one-of-a-kind programs for schools and colleges, art centers, youth groups, senior centers, adult residential communities, church and community groups, public schools, and tourist and travel organizations. Content, structure, and style are tailored to appeal to the ages, interests, themes and focus of particular groups—and the individual needs of their members.
