Yoga Goddess Bootcamp

August 13-20, 2011

Yoga has been called the "fountain of youth" because of it's ability to bring health and vitality to one's overall being, but searching for ways to avoid the inevitable process of aging indicates a resistance to life that can actually exacerbate it. Instead, we should think of Yoga as the "fountain of life", capable of infusing the body with vital energy, facilitating spiritual growth and revealing new depths of innate wisdom that allow us to mature with elegance, grace, and richness.

While the results can be astounding, the only way to truly experience these radical and life-transforming benefits is a dedicated practice and a commitment to a healthy yogic lifestyle.  If you are not losing weight, feeling stronger, looking younger, gaining more flexibility, experiencing more peace of mind and enjoying emotional freedom then chances are your practice is simply not consistent enough. In this 7-day Yoga Intensive Angela will offer you the chance to get serious about the changes you want to see in your life---mind, body, and spirit---with a unique and holistic approach to living as a modern Yoga Goddess.  With a synthesis of both ON and OFF-THE-MAT yoga techniques, rooted deeply in ancient wisdom and interwined with the richness of a decade of personal yoga practice, she will guide you on a journey back to the woman you are intended to be.

About Angela:

Angela's primary teaching style is inspired by vinyasa krama yoga, a style brought to prominence by the legendary yogi Sri. T. Krishnamacharya. In this flowing yoga the functions of the mind, body, and breath are integrated and the student experiences an elevated level of mental peace.

The physical postures are linked to each other with transitional movements called vinyasas, while the mind closely follows the slow, deliberate, deep breathing. Thus the breath is used as a harness that links the body and mind, and the union of yoga is achieved.

The movements are slow in vinyasa yoga, and the student learns to deepen the breath and slow the breathing rate. By keeping the mind focused on the controlled breath, which leads the movements, the student progresses safely and without injury. A state of steady awareness is cultivated, and from this place the student can access his or her natural inner state of peace and joy.
