The Society was founded on January 26th 1937 by seven enthusiasts and the original aims were to encourage photography and to collect a pictorial record of Nuneaton.

Affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Midlands Counties Photographic Federation.

Supported by the Warwickshire County Council Community Development Fund.
