From improv to sketch comedy to television, writing and hosting for AOL’s teen and kids network, Andrea Cansler has shown herself a versatile talent. She has a B.A. in theatre, is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory and an alumni of the prestigious Groundlings Sunday Company. This year, Andrea was one of the eight women in the nation chosen by Lorne Michaels to audition for the 2010-2011 season of SNL. Television credits include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, MADtv, and Jamie Kennedy’s Blowin’ Up. Andrea is a trained singer performing at Carnegie Hall as well as singing back-up for fellow Tennessee native, Dolly Parton. She was a member of the musical improv troupe Second City Sings.
Andrea has performed at a variety of prestigious comedy festivals including 2009 Austin “Out of Bounds” Festival, 2009 San Francisco Improv Festival, and she recently played the role of Bettie Page in Inside Private Lives, which won Los Angeles Times Critic’s Choice and “Pick of the Fringe” at Edinburgh Comedy Festival.
