Helping Parents and Kids Connect with Books through Strategic Reading

The Literature Links program will introduce parents to the book 7 Keys of Comprehension by Susan Zimmermann. Parents will learn how to use these strategies with their children through a five-week parent book club led by Mrs. King and Mrs. Falkowski. Thirty take home reading backpacks will become available in the MHA library to all K - 2 families. Each backpack will contain two literature books, a discussion prompt card and a reflection sheet based on the strategies taught in this club. Our hope is to help families at Allen connect with books through strategic reading!
