Helping Parents and Kids Connect with Books through Strategic Reading

The Literature Links program will introduce parents to the book 7 Keys of Comprehension by Susan Zimmermann. Ideally parents will learn how to use these strategies with their children through a five-week parent book club led by the librarian. The program also creates thirty take home reading backpacks will become available in the library geared to families that have children in grades Kindergarten to Second. Each backpack will contain two literature books surrounding a theme and a discussion prompt card. The goal is to help families with books through strategic reading!
