Aún quedarán días de frío, alguna nevada perdida, el viento de marzo, pero encontrar los ciruelos florecidos calienta el alma. Da la sensación de que el invierno ya está por terminar y pronto se nos despertarán los sentidos a la primavera

Day at Meiji Jingu

Every year is the same, we feel the need to visit Meiji Jingu at new years and as soon as we arrive, the amount of people is scary. But it’s amazing how well organized is the police. We always enter from Sangubashi so we don’t have to line up for hours standing the cold and the wind. From Sangubashi the progress is rather fast although the access is not from the main entrance but from one side. Today I felt the way back to the station rather long and crowded. One full new year ahead!

Today is the day to eat Osechi ryori with lobster, salmon, clams, caramelized fish and chestnuts. In this day there are also the new year card greetings and the visit to the temple. We have a bunch of cards to answer and still haven’t been to the temple but with the weekend ahead there will be time for everything. It will be hard to go back to work after this long vacation.
