Music Series

“Classically Alive”, Abe Minzer, director.  Under the sponsorship of the Pikes Peak Arts Council, Classically Alive, hosts over 30 musicians and other artists, and features diverse monthly at-home music/arts salons, in addition to programs at venues across Colorado.  Highlights of 2009 included opera, jazz, and music from the US, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Japan and Argentina. The 2008 season included collaborations with American Cancer Society, and the Dos Americas guitar duo. The 2006 & 2007 salons featured the complete Schubert song cycles, Mostly Mozart, and 7 programs on Brahms and Schumann.  Beyond the great food and camaraderie, the salons host many styles of music, including contemporary, and provides a venue for painters, poets and discussion.

Come for our 2nd annual cabin salon, Sun August 15th 2PM   We are looking for performers of any type- musical or otherwise.  Anything related to Chopin is encouraged, but we are open to practically anything, including jazz and other popular forms, poetry, humor, and so on.

By the cabin, are several low-impact trails from easy to moderate.  Additionally, this is a very KID-friendly event - kids love playing around the stream in the back.

Our first cabin salon last year was attended by over 40 folks, and we all had a blast!!!  No snow in August sorry...
