At the Lord’s command, Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages:

Numbers 33:2

We welcome the newest addition to our family - Hanna Jerusha Brooks. Great name, Sarah Jerusha Brooks (my daughter). We are very proud of our 11 pipers piping. I think this is appropriate as it seems that when all of the grandkids are here at once I keep wanting to say, “Pipe down!” We’ve been told recently that we’re not done yet. Next May we will have 12. Hmmmm! I’m thinking of a name. How does a boy named “Omega” sound? We need a boy by the way to even things out. With Hannah’s birth there are now six girls and five boys. Lately I’ve been preaching on the Kingdom of God increasing. This is not exactly what I had in mind but I’m not complaining.

The picture above is the gift my children gave me this Father’s Day. Not just the picture but the children, my grandchildren are such precious gifts to us. This is what it’s all about. We are fulfilling the original mandate that God gave to man - be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. These children are part of our clan that will one day do their part to fulfill God’s command to establish the glory of the Lord in this earth. God wants to fill this earth with a mighty seed. I pray that these children will be arrows in the hand of a mighty man that will strike their mark with purpose.

By the way, I told my children that they have to be done or this picture will become obsolete. Just like my post of 4 months ago entitled My Nine Crowns.

I don’t mean to whine but .... wahhhh! Traveling is for the birds and the Andrews. Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad we’re here but the trip is arduous to say the least. We have been up for 33+ hours now. We are about to turn in for the night at 5:00 PM our time. I will post a few pictures so you can see a little of what we are seeing. We had a good meal early on Monday morning then airplane food (oxymoron?) and junk food (oxymoron) at the airport until an hour or so ago. Lorie and I did have the privilege of sitting in the row directly behind First Class. There was no curtain. So while we were eating our ox(ymoron) we got to watch the First Class served a restaurant sized filet mignon with real utensils instead of the flimsy plasticware we were given. I watched the following service: champagne served before we even took off, a table cloth put on their quadruple sized pull-out table, a salad course, a main entree course, hot rolls served individually with tongs, a gourmet sized ice cream sundae, an offer of assorted gourmet chocolates, a hot towel served with tongs. We ate a meager sized portion of chicken chunks served on top of heavily gravied rice, a small hard dinner roll and our desert was a small package of lemon drop cookies. I remember thinking, if they are first class what does that make me - second class? last class? no class? It reminded me of the message that I preached last Wednesday night from 1 Corinthians 12. With God, there is no such thing as second class. The parts that seem weaker, less honorable and unpresentable, God has given more honor (vss. 22-24). I don’t need to be treated special to know that I am special to God. Anyway here a few pictures that I promised. Click Here.

I couldn’t find one. I wished it had said, “mature”.

These children are my greatest joy in life. They are all different. From left to right: Madalyn is always smiling. Seth loves to punch me in the face (I let him). Elyse is a nut like her mom was. Ezra is a gentle soul. Elijah is BIG. Emma has a special place in our hearts as she is our first. She is holding Eva which is our latest but not our last. She has a unique beauty. Joseph is a loveable bear. Isaiah thinks his big sister is also named Isaiah. She has to correct him by saying, “My name ELYSE!”

It was a miracle that we got them all looking forward at the same time without one of them in tears.

Father, thank you for crowning my life with your good blessings and leaving abundance in your wake!
