Well it has been an interesting week of setting things up in California. It has been more difficult than what I thought to get apartment and all that, but after an intereting week, it seems that thing are coming togheter.

So how did the week go? What were the highlights?, well, I decided to put them into bullet points, I guess it is easier to summarize the experience in this way:

- California IS expensive!!. That shirt that says " California, you can't afford it " tells the truth

- So far, Irvine is one of the niciest cities I have ever been and, the people are very nice!!

- Relocating takes time AND money!!!. There will always be expenses that you did not consider

- If you are ever tranfered like me to work in the USA, make sure you get your SSN before you get here (if that is even possible). You will need it for a lot of things

- Apartments in Irvine are more equipped than the apartments In Monterrey when i studied there. They come with appliances (refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, etc.), A/C, alarms, etc.

- My laptop computer from work is a MacBook Pro!!!! And that kicks a$$!!! . Only in California!!

- If you wanna keep your money, do not drink coffee in Starbucks every day!!!

- The Liztomania song by Phoenix plays on the radio every 15 minutes!!

- So far, I have not seen the "excellent weather" from California, it has been raining every day!!

- All the mexicans are in Santa Ana. They sell elotes, tamales and menudo over there!

- The federal offices open from 9 am to 4 pm from M - F. Just Like in Mexico!!

- In order to get a drivers license in California, you have to study a book of 30 + pages about regulations.

- Target is cheaper than Albertsons - so far

- Do not bother to ask for HEB's. They do not exist in California

- Corta uñas is called nail clipper!!

- Skype is a great application!!! It really helps you save on calls!!

- Always get several quotations when it comes to moving the stuff from your house from city to city

- iCal is a great tool on times like this!!

- Tweeting on the iPad rules!

- Public parks do make a huge diffence on the way a city look. Irvine has tons of park, and is between the best 25 cities to live in the USA

- Everyone knows what is going on in Mexico

- Amaury is one very difficult name to pronounce in English!!

- People at work and on the streets have been very friendly with, and that has helped me to relief the stress

- There is a book on sell about 400 facts of Chuck Norris. Actually, there are two different books of facts!!

- It does not matter how busy you are, you will always be missing your family. My daughter and wife are still in Mexico while I settle everything, but it was the best thing to do

- Chuck Norris died 20 years ago, Death just has not built up the courage to tell him yet

Well those are the thing that I remember so far, i hope i get my apartment next week, because I have a bunch of stuff that I have to move.

Lets see if the objective of being here in december gets accomplished (get a car and an apartment). I will post more pictures later on!!!!
