Ancient Arts Fellowship
Ancient Arts Fellowship
The Ancient Arts Fellowship is a dark ages and medieval re-enactment group based in Canberra, Australia.
Our aim is to promote the understanding and appreciation of history by recreating crafts and combat from our three primary cultures spanning a timeline from roughly 700 AD to the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
These cultures are:
Saxons
Vikings
Normans
Our members, who come from all walks of life, get together regularly for craft nights, workshops, archery and combat training.
We hold an annual event, Beorgwic, over the October long-weekend which is regularly attended by over 100 people. Our members also travel to re-enactment events hosted by other clubs around Australia.
The Ancient Arts Fellowship provide numerous public and school displays throughout the year in a hope to banish the idea that the Dark Ages was a dull and uninteresting point in human history.
